Jim Gedris is a proud Mount Pleasant native with a strong record of leadership and service. For nearly 25 years, Jim has been an active volunteer with the Thornwood Fire Department. He rose to Chief of Department, guiding the team through natural disasters, COVID-19, and other troubled times with focused command and fiscal responsibility. Professionally, Jim has served as a New York City firefighter since 2006, where he also represents his fellow firefighters as a Union Delegate and expert on healthcare and benefits.

As a father to two children in the Mount Pleasant schools, Jim believes in building a better future for the next generation. Electing Jim to the Town Board means putting a proven leader to work for the people of Mount Pleasant. His experience in managing budgets, leading colleagues through tragedy, and standing up for those he represents will keep our government transparent, accountable, and responsive to residents. With Jim on the Board, Mount Pleasant will be even more prepared to take on any challenges, all while preserving the values that make this community so special.
